Of course they work. Massive profits for healthcare industry, easy low-risk procedure. Prices of colonoscopies have increased exponentially, especially since they moved from gastro physician office to big monopoly hospital medical facility.
I will continue to get mine every to years as always. THey WORK
Wow. What needs to be clearly stated is the absolute risk and relative risk. Yes the relative risk decreased by 18%. But thats because the risk is 1.2% in the non colonscopy group, and 0.98% in the colonoscopy group. So yes if you compare those two its 18%. But the ABSOLUTE RISK difference is 0.22%. This is what the pharma companeis do all the time, and sometimes they campaign and dramatically misrepresent benefits of some of their treatments. Its important to educate patients on RELATIVE RISK and ABSOLUTE risk. Presenting data is important, and if you say decreases chance by 18% then some patients might assume its absolute risk, but its actually relative risk.
Idiotic clickbait headline and contradictory video. Absolute nonsense. The test works and helps. The End.
But climate science is supposedly settled and not up for debate. Let that sink in.
Take a cold shower .
Shepp once again misleading headline. This procedure saved my life. Keep the hyped intro for reports that aren’t life or death.
Everyone believes what doctors tell them. Don't believe everything doctors tell you. I worked in a major hospital. It's all about billable hours. Yes, "billable hours." Next time you're in with a doc, watch how many times he or she looks at their watch, or a clock. Get them in, get them out. Colonoscopies are money makers. Believe what you want to believe. And they are NOT foolproof.
There are all these stories and these studies that essentially discredit any sort of preventative medicine. You could wonder who is funding all of these "studies" and who is ensuring that they are reported as they are by big media.
You would almost think that there are groups who have a vested financial interest in people being as sick as possible.
Had a friend it saved his life! Who cares another study next week will say it’s good!
Never believe any findings where patients self select whether to undergo a test or procedure. This basically makes the study findings highly questionable.
The procedure itself is not bad at all.Its the prepare part that keeps you close to a bathroom.
At my last colonoscopy I woke up "during" the procedure and the doctor and anesthesiologist were standing around talking. There was no procedure happening. I always wondered why there was no discomfort after the colonoscopy when they put you under. It's because they're not doing the procedure.
doctors are incompetent. and are not held accountable for their incompetence. you want to clean your colon? and prevent cancer? do a juice fast for 90 days. you will see all the junk that's been inside of you for years that will potentially give you cancer all come out.
it means that Doctors who discover cancer in colonoscopies are not capable of curing cancer if discovered by colonoscopy. hence there is no change in the death rate of those who take colonoscopy.
So colonoscopy screening on only works if you have been screened???? WTF did I just listen too ?????
This video is confusing as hell
The best news you can get from a colonoscopy is the doctor saying "We didn't have to do that. You're fine"
– Jim Gaffigan
This video is kinda dumb and misleading. It compared a group of people who were "invited" to colonoscopy vs. a group that was not. They say the invited group did not do as well as expected with only minimal benefit. They didn't really emphasize that the "invited" group incldued lots of people who DIDN'T EVEN get a colonscopy. But when they compared the people who actually DID get a colonoscopy to those who did not, it cut the risk of colon cancer by 31% and of dying from that cancer by 50%. This is bad journalism.
